The Mercatus Center at George Mason University considers the safety of all those in attendance at the Summit for University Center Leaders our top priority. As we navigate this in-person event we look to enforce several precautionary measures as outlined in this document to best keep everyone safe and healthy. This Duty of Care is a living document that will continue to evolve as we determine the necessary protocols to ensure the safety of our participants and staff.
Conference Check-in
The summit check-in window will be available throughout the summit, beginning two hours prior to the first session to reduce queuing and crowding at the desk
Wristbands
You will be provided a wristband at check-in to coordinate with the message you’d like other participants to respect in terms of socializing.
GREEN I’m OK with hugs, high-fives, etc.
YELLOW I’m OK with talking but not touching
RED Hello, I’m keeping my distance
Masks
Masks are optional at this event.
Blue disposable masks will be provided at conference check-in if you’d like
You are also welcome to bring and wear your own masks if you’d prefer
Hand Sanitizer
Hand sanitizer will be distributed to you at conference check-in
Hand sanitizer stations will be set-up throughout the conference space
In partnership with the Renaissance Arlington Capital View
Responsible food and beverage service, to include protective barriers and physically-distanced seating arrangements
Rigorous cleaning of all meeting, meal, and socializing spaces following the conclusion of each use, as described in Marriott’s Commitment to Clean
Your Personal Accountability Commitment
The only way in which we can strive to protect everyone’s safety is for every participant to abide by the rules and safety measures outlined above and be respectful to staff enforcing those rules and safety measures. By attending our in-person event, you agree to abide by the health and safety precautions required by the CDC, Commonwealth of Virginia, The Renaissance, and Mercatus. This includes but is not limited to engaging in respectfully appropriate physical distancing with others, and not attending the event if you are ill or have recently been exposed to COVID-19.
